We encourage parents to become fully involved in the life of the school. We value the importance of good home/school links and of working in partnership with parents. Parents can make appointments to view their children’s work at any time and are also welcome to choose books from the library with their children during library club sessions.
Staff are nearly always available to discuss any issues, though the end of the day is a better time than first thing in the morning. Parent consultations are arranged each term; this is a further opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and view his or her work in detail. In the Summer Term an Annual Report is sent home and parents have the option of discussing this with the class teacher.
Many parents help within the classrooms, helping children read and assisting with other activities in the school such as gardening in the school allotment. Others help by organising fundraising and social events with PALS (a Parent and Local Support group). Our aim is to ensure that all parents feel happy with their involvement in school life and always feel welcome.
